Gisborne District Council is a unitary authority. This position is in the Natural Resources Policy Section, responsible for the development and monitoring of regional policies and plans. Expect to cover a wide range of work and be given early project responsibility.

Key work areas include air quality, waste management, biodiversity, discharges, soil conservation, coastal and marine management.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person with skills in any of these policy roles. WILD AID! WILDERNESS & REMOTE AREA EMERGENCY RESPONSE TRAINING

Wilderness and Remote Area Emergency Response Training - an essential experience for those working, living or playing in wilderness or remote locations.

These training courses are scenario-based with a strong emphasis on the development of practical, life-saving skills and confidence supplying first aid and establishing on-going care in wilderness and remote areas.

Courses include evening work and practical search and rescue first aid scenarios in difficult terrain. Successful participants will be awarded with nationally recognised qualifications that are mapped from the Certificates III & IV in Outdoor Recreation and are wholly transferable. Courses run by experienced trainers with many years guiding and teaching in the outdoor education/recreation industry.
