Key responsibilities:

Explorus Adventure Learning is committed to the empowerment and development of young people through Adventure Learning Programmes. Our purpose built Outdoor Education Centre is 3km from the coast in the karri forest adjoining the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park. Programmes are run in the nearby National Parks with students experiencing forests, rivers, caves, sea cliffs and the ocean. We also travel throughout WA working near Dwellingup as well as the Murchison and Kimberley regions. Programmes range in duration from 1 to 12 days and the majority of groups are of high school age.

We are seeking experienced staff who are passionate about working with young people in the outdoors. Most programmes are journey based with the aims of assisting students to reconnect with the natural world, accept responsibility for themselves, and to work as part of a small community.

Selection criteria:

Wilderness and Remote Area Emergency Response Training - an essential experience for those working, living or playing in wilderness or remote locations.

These training courses are scenario-based with a strong emphasis on the development of practical, life-saving skills and confidence supplying first aid and establishing on-going care in wilderness and remote areas.

Successful participants will be awarded with nationally recognised qualifications that are mapped from the Certificates III & IV in Outdoor Recreation and are wholly transferable. Courses run by experienced trainers with many years guiding and teaching in the outdoor education/recreation industry.
